Lodge Planina above Vrhnika is a mountain hut, which offers an accommodation in a big dorm room with 15 beds and it is cyclist friendly accommodation.
In the western part of Vrhnika (Slovenia), among the various Karst phenomena, Planina above Vrhnika is rising to an altitude of 733 m. There is new mountain hut, built in 2017 and a 22 meters high lookout tower, built in 2008. It is already the fourth placed on this site, and there is a wonderful view of the nearby and distant surroundings (villages, cities, Ljubljana marsh, river Ljubljanica, some other hills, if there is a good weather, you can see the highest Slovenian mountain, Triglav). At Planina above Vrhnika you can get lot's of traditional Slovenian dishes, including ''vrhniški štruklji'' and Cankar's coffee, which represent local gastronomy.

Mountain hut has a big dorm room with 15 beds and 2 bathrooms and it is a cyclist friendly accommodation also. There is a small info corner, prepared special for cyclist, where they can get all information about cycling routs in surrounding, repair shop, places for relaxation, cycling packets etc. Planina is very popular spot among locals, who come to relax their mind and body. If you want to feel the spirit of mountain huts, but still staying near by Ljubljana, Planina above Vrhnika is the right place for you.
